Certified home improvement contractors/energy auditors participating in Maryland's Home Performance with ENERGY
STAR program can help you cost-effectively improve home energy efficiency.
These specially-trained home performance contractors can:
- Perform a whole-house energy evaluation of your home using state-of-the-art
equipment
- Recommend energy-saving home improvements, based on the evaluation, that will give you the best results
To make sure your Home Performance with ENERGY STAR job is done
right, the Maryland Home Performance Program performs random inspections of contractors'
home improvements to ensure quality.
Each home performance contractor
is trained, certified, and then fully mentored on their first five jobs. These jobs are then inspected
by a third-party quality assurance specialist who verifies that
all measures perform to established standards. Five of contractor's next 20 homes will then be inspected, and then at least 5% of all subsequent homes in a given calendar year will continue to be inspected after home improvements have been completed.
